There is speculation that the dad of four could be going for a part in a new spy thriller directed by Matthew Vaughn, kick-starting a career on the big screen.

If Becks is successful in his pursuit of Tinseltown glory, he could be starring opposite Colin Firth, who will play a secret agent, and Samuel L Jackson, who is stepping into the villain’s shoes in upcoming flick The Secret Service.

An unnamed source told The Sun:

"Becks was asked by Colin Firth if he'd like to be in the movie but he is yet to fully commit.

"He loves movies and fancies appearing on the big screen - but just as a one-off, not a full-time career."

It wouldn’t be the first time a member of the Beckham family has tried on the life of a thesp for size – remember when Victoria appeared in box office hit Spice World along with the rest of the Spice Girls?

Posh actually spoke about her husband's prospects as an actor recently, telling an interviewer that she sees no harm in him going for it.

Meanwhile, look how far David's come since this adorable video of him as a 17-year-old giggling his way through a role-playing interview surface. Aww!
