Katie Price stepped out yesterday evening, showing off the first signs of her growing stomach.

Katie, also known as Jordan, took part in a debate on ‘Celebrity is the new opiate of the masses’, speaking against former politician and reality TV star Lembit Opik.

Recently-wed Katie arrived at the Cambridge Union following a less than smooth journey. Katie tweeted en route, “Grrrrrr flat tyre not my car drivers! I forgot how to change a tyre! I think we should all remind ourselves 2 learn in case we are on our own.”

“Katie Price could not be more relevant to talk about the issue of celebrity status as she is one of the country’s best-known celebrities and is hugely well placed to discuss the effects of this.”

Despite last year’s win, the 35-year-old went on to lose the debate, during which she reportedly spoke for around ten minutes to a packed audience of 800 students.

Cambridge Union tweeted shortly afterwards, “The ayes have won this house does believe celebrity is the new opiate of the masses.”

Speaking out over the union’s choice to use Katie as an opponent in the debate over celebrity culture, union president Ben Kentish said:

“I think Katie Price could not be more relevant to talk about the issue of celebrity status as she is one of the country’s best-known celebrities and is hugely well placed to discuss the effects of this.”

Last year saw the mother-of-three triumph over opponent Rachel Johnson, magazine editor and sister of Boris Johnson, in a feminist debate.

“You can do anything if you put your mind to it, you really can.”

Arguing that you can juggle motherhood and a successful career in Cambridge Union’s debate, This house believes the only limit to female success is female ambition, the model said:

“I believe I take a lot of risks and the more people say: “You can’t do this, you can’t do that”, I think, “Watch me!”

“You can do anything if you put your mind to it, you really can.”

Rachel hit back at Jordan’s ‘naïve and optimistic’ views, saying:

“YOU did suggest, Katie, that if you were ambitious, prepared to work hard, the sky’s the limit. Or, in your case, a ten-part series on Sky called Katie. That’s a compliment, Katie. “

“Her breasts for blokes, hair and beauty tips for Mum, ponies for girls and her novels for those who really love literature. “

Katie’s PR agent has denied reports that the star did a Justin Bieber last night by arriving two hours late, tweeting:

“Reports stating @MissKatiePrice lost the debate at @cambridgeunion because she was late are not true - she arrived on time for the debate”.
