One Direction announce ‘1D Day’ on the 23rd November

They might be barely into their 20s, but supergroup One Direction have already managed to get an entire day dedicated to them – with the announcement of ‘1D Day’ on the 23rd November.

In the first event of its kind, the band have announced ‘1D day’ will involve broadcasting seven hours of live content form the band, including guest appearances and fan videos, which will then be seen around the world.

The competition to get involved launches today, with fans urged to check the band’s social media sites for details.

‘1D Day is all about giving back to our amazing fans for supporting us for the past three years.'

Band member Liam Payne, 20, says: ‘1D Day is all about giving back to our amazing fans for supporting us for the past three years. When we suggested it we never thought anyone would let us loose LIVE all day – we cannot wait!'

The fivesome are currently on their worldwide tour, and have just announced that their third studio album ‘Midnight Memories’ will be out on the 25th November.

One Direction have already sold 30 million records worldwide, won two BRIT awards, three MTV Europe Music awards, and had three UK number ones, and now have their very own film ‘One Direction: This Is Us.’
