The show may have only returned on Sunday night but hosts Ant and Dec predict there will be romance between Joey Essex and Amy Willerton.
Ant said: “I think something could happen between Amy and Joey. We haven’t had a jungle romance for quite a few years like Peter and Jordan. We would all love it to happen.”
The Geordie presenter lifted the lid on their already-growing friendship. “We keep watching them on the monitors on set. Every time they are in a group together they sit next to each other, they stand next to each other, they talk to each other. They are like two peas in a pod.”
Dec revealed his excitement for this series of the reality show, which he and Ant have presented since it started back in 2002.
He said: “I’m really excited about this year. We saw a bit of everybody in the first show.
“We’ve seen the two rival teams form and I think the dynamic of them having them choose people for their teams was good.”
But, despite Ant and Dec’s hope for a jungle romance between Amy and Joey, it was reported today that Joey’s ex and TOWIE co-star Sam Faiers could be set to enter the jungle.
A source told a UK newspaper: “They’re really keen to get her as Joey and Amy’s friendship looks set to develop into more. So Sam turning up will throw a spanner in the works.”
