Prince William and Kate Middleton are determined to do things differently, wanting the absolute best for their royal baby son Prince George.
And, to make sure the future king can remain close to them on their long tour of Australia next year, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are reportedly taking granny Carole Middleton along to help look after their son on the action-packed trip.
A friend of the royal couple explained the decision to The Mirror, saying: “They don’t want just anyone helping out in Australia and think Carole would be perfect.”
“William has always admired the close relationship between Carole and Michael and how they’ve raised their children in such a happy environment. That’s what he wants for George, so he and Kate are enlisting their help whenever they can.”
Apparently Kate, who was raised by her parents in an ordinary family home, does not want to forget her roots; in fact, unlike most royal mothers, the protective Duchess wants only friends and family to be closely involved in raising the third in line to the throne.
Which makes her mum Carole the perfect choice when it comes to picking a nanny for baby George on at least part of the official visit Down Under.
It's unsurprising that William is keen for Catherine to have her baby son close to he reducing the trip; after all, he was the first ever royal baby to be brought along on a royal tour.

“Prince William was the first royal baby brought along on a royal trip,” said Kate Coyne top Good Morning America.
"[Diana] insisted that she bring him. She would not leave him behind and one of the reasons was that she was breastfeeding — also unheard of in the royal family up until that time.
“Diana lavished her boys with affection and she was truly a loving parent, which in many ways broke the mold for traditional royal parenting.”
However, while Diana broke the mould for royal parents, William and Kate are intending to be even more hands-on than even Lady Di. When Prince Charles and Princess Diana toured Australia and New Zealand in 1983, they left William (then nine months old) in New South Wales, tended to by a royal nanny. They visited their son nine times during their six-week tour.
Kate and William intend to be have their son with them throughout the royal trip to Australia, with Carole there to help look after the bouncing baby boy when the Duke and Duchess are at events unsuitable for an infant.
Since giving birth to George in July, Kate has attended just nine official engagements – all of them close to home in Anglesey or Kensington Palace so as not to be apart from her baby for too long.
It's lovely to see a royal couple working so hard to be present in their baby's life, isn't it?
