The 39-year-old, who already has a son Leo, 2, with her husband Javier Bardem, revealed that she found it difficult to stop breastfeeding when the day came.

'I was breast-feeding my son 13 months, and I plan to do the same with my daughter,' she said in the interview.

And Cruz isn't the only famous face who chose to breastfeed their child, with Victoria's Secret Model Miranda Kerr being pictured nursing her baby son FInn backstage at a Victoria's Secret show in 2011.

Clueless actress Alicia Silverstone and Secretary star Maggie Gyllenhall have also revealed they are breastfeeding advocates, with pop star Pink saying on the subject:

Miranda Kerr also advocates breastfeeding

'I think breastfeeding is healthy and natural and it's a comfort to my baby, so I can give a s*** what anyone else thinks.'

The star added that she almost had a run in with a man in a restaurant over her decision to breastfeed, as he walked by and expressed his disgust.

'Carrie [Pink's husband] said, "You're starting fights in restaurants? I said, "I will…I will fight, hold my baby."

Blimey, no one mess with that mother!
