Keeping up with Beyonce’s Drunk in Love: Is Jennifer Lopez’s ‘I Luh Ya PaPi’ a sad sign of the increasingly sexual trend amongst female pop stars?

It seems the days of nineties strong female pop stars are well and truly over.

First Single Ladies icon Beyonce got all Kardashian-esque with Drunk In Love, and now Love Don't Cost A Thing star Jennifer Lopez is getting in on the rage of all things sexual.

Nudging Miley Cyrus' twerking attempts well and truly off the charts with her new song 'I Luh Ya Papi' (and her much more substantial bootie), the mother-of-two reminds the world of the ass-et that made her famous.

Miley Cyrus and her famous wrecking ball

The raunchy video shows off the 44-year-old's celebrated figure, and the lyrics are even racier.

Lines from the song include: 'Give it to you right in the car, that’s you/We can first give you some of this, that’s you/And you’re all loving that J.Lo, true'.

And the pop star isn't adverse to a bit of objectification, referencing her own body in the song, with: 'Got that hourglass for you, baby, look at these legs'.

Would Jay Z get on a pole for Beyonce in his boxers? (Eek!)

Keeping up with Beyonce's 'grinding on that surfboard' lyrics, she also makes sure to work in some 'subtle' innuendoes, including : 'Gotta start with the head...Pull your trigger, go and get your gun up'.

From Miley Cyrus' naked wrecking ball fiasco, to Kim Kardashian's awkward biking scenes, and Beyonce's strip-gate in Partition- are we going backwards in the world of sexism? Why do beautiful, talented stars still feel the need to strip off to be recognised, where male stars do not?

Kim Kardashian (seen here in Kanye's Bound 2 video) has previously complained about 'just being seen as a sex object'
