There is nothing more powerful than friendship - as these truly amazing women have proven.
According to a video uploaded by photographer Albert Bredenhann, Gerdi McKenna was diagnosed with breast cancer in the last months of 2013.
But, in a bid to show their support, her friends emailed Bredenhann in Ferbuary 2014 requesting an extra-special photoshoot with their friend.
And when we say extra-special, we really mean extra-special.

That's right, this video documents the moments that Gerdi's amazing friends shaved their heads in solidarity with her.
One woman explained: “My heart is full and I am doing it for my sister, she is one amazing person … that is the least I can do."
Since the video of the photoshoot was uploaded one week ago, it has achieved over 5 million views on Vimeo.
We love how bowled over Gerdi was by her friend's makeovers - and we especially love that these amazing women donated their hair to CANSA (the Cancer Association of South Africa).
