Tara Hanouskova and her 4-year-old son, of Knoxville, Tennesse, were innocently searching for chocolate eggs when she made the grim discovery.
She told local news reporters that she had noticed a strange smell getting worse over the course of last week.
Luckily for Tara, when she made the discovery of the decomposing body under her decking, her son was in the house and ‘has no idea what happened.’
The discovery left Tara baffled, with her saying: “I really don’t even know how he got there.”
Tests showed that the middle-aged man’s body had been there for about two weeks and police confirmed that the body was badly decomposed, and that he may have died from an existing medical condition.
While the first autopsy revealed the medical condition, police are waiting for the results of the final tests and say if nothing is found the death will be described as natural.
Police are continuing to investigate to find out the identity of the man, they confirmed he did not match the description of any missing people in the area.
