Following the tragic death of Peaches Geldof, who it was revealed passed away at home yesterday aged 25, grieving fans of the young mum have turned on her arch-nemesis Katie Hopkins.
Katie came under fire after ignoring the sad news when she hopped on Twitter this morning, cheerily tweeting: "Good morning followers & detractors - how are we today? Maria Miller is STILL on the run. When I say run, I mean walking around The Commons"
One Twitter follower furiously responded: "Have you an ounce of sympathy in your nasty little heart today?"
And she wasn't the only one.
However some took Katie's side, calling upon their fellow Twitterers to stop raking up the past and move on.
Peaches Geldof famously took down Katie Hopkins on This Morning in a heated row on parenting, but not before the outspoken Apprentice contestant had insulted the 25-year-old mother.
The debate started off fairly civilised, with Peaches - then 24 - explaining the benefits of Attachment Parenting, but the pair's debate quickly spiralled into a very heated argument as Katie Hopkins dismissed the practice as "new age nonsense".
At one point, when Peaches mentioned pushing her child in a stroller, Katie took to childishly chiding the dedicated mum about the accident she had with baby Astala.
"She likes Attachment Parenting until her baby is on the floor on the pavement," Katie said cuttingly.
"Every single mother has a baby fall out of bed or fall from the pram," Peaches hit back, with Phil coming to her defence, telling Katie to "stop".
The row had begun long before they set foot on the show, with Katie tweeting an image of the pram incident and captioning it: "Looking forward to getting some parenting advice from Peaches later on #itvthismorning.
"peaches believes in attachment parenting. Attached to a phone that is... [sic]"
But Peaches didn't waste any time blasting Katie in an epic Twitter rant.
Peaches' angry tirade began: "I don't even want to reply to Katie Hopkins desperate, incessant tweeting because it feeds her insatiable lust for recognition. However her posting low blows like a picture of my son falling from his pram when I tripped over a crack in a pavement has warranted at least a few responses from me [sic].
"This is the woman who wrote of a disabled sporting hero that she hoped that she would roll over nails on her way to a tv appearance. This is the woman who hates women, ethnic minorities, anyone with less money, anyone who dares point out the glaringly obvious her own children on a regular basis. I wouldn't be surprised if she had a shrivelled old pair of balls under that 1980s sloaney tweed skirt of hers [sic]."
"All the better to castrate her with. What we need to ask ourselves is why we even allow her to have a platform. It says a lot about the state of current media that she is allowed to spew her repugnant hate all over day time tv shows [sic].
"I'm all for free speech, but when a woman who insults the disabled is the current fave in a long line of ever changing "love to hate" tabloid darlings we must ask ourselves, what is next? Hitler being exhumed from his grave, reanimated and allowed as a contestant on the Apprentice or a commentator on itv?? [sic]"
Meanwhile, while Katie Hopkins has chosen to ignore the sad news, This Morning's Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield have paid tribute to Peaches, calling her death "tragic":
Police were called to Peaches Geldof's house in Wrotham at 1.35pm after receiving a report of concern for the welfare of a woman.
She was pronounced dead by South East Coast Ambulance Service.
In her last message on Twitter, she posted a picture of her as a child with her mother, who died of a heroin overdose in 2000 when Geldof was 11.
Her husband Tom Cohen said in a statement: "My beloved wife Peaches was adored by myself and her two sons Astala and Phaedra and I shall bring them up with their mother in their hearts everyday."
