Lisa Hilton, 29, died from septicaemia that caused massive organ failure - just five weeks after being diagnosed with a skin infection.

The 29 year old had been diagnosed with cellulitis over a month before, and prescribed a course if antibiotics. Unfortunately, the devoted mother neglected to take the drugs correctly and the infection took hold of her body.

'It breaks my heart, not just that she is going to miss out on so much of them but that they are going to miss out on her too,'

According to her devastated husband, Andrew Greaves, Lisa refused to be admitted to hospital because she hated being away from her children.

But after she became delirious her mother phoned am ambulance and Lisa was taken in.

Upon arrival, doctors told her family she was likely to lose her leg to the infection, but on taking her into surgery, her organs began to fail as the septicaemia spread.

Her life support was later turned off.

'I see her in every one of our children. It breaks my heart, not just that she is going to miss out on so much of them but that they are going to miss out on her too,' her husband said.

Her mother, Mrs Hilton, described her daughter as her 'best friend,' and added that her children would be her legacy and the family's strength during his difficult time.

'We have to be strong for them and Andy.'

Septicaemia is caused by an infection in the body (in this case cellulitis) that causes the immune system to go into overdrive.
