Eight months into their relationship, the Atomic Kitten star and the 5ive singer discovered that they were expecting a baby together; it will be Natasha's fourth child and Ritchie's first.
Speaking on ITV's Lorraine, Natasha Hamilton said that she and Ritchie Neville did not have an instant attraction, saying: "We were just friends. We've known each other since I was 16 and he was about 19 or so.
"Back in the day we used to pass each other always at gigs and say 'Hi' and have a little chit-chat, but we didn't know much about each other."
Laughing, Ritchie added that their first meeting was "many moons ago", implying that nothing romantic happened until many years later.
And, when pressed over who chased who, Natasha and Ritchie went oddly quiet before giggling and agreeing that they "could live" with the idea that Ritchie was the one who pursued the Atomic Kitten star.
While Natasha has yet to reveal the gender of the baby, she heavily hinted it would be a little girl, saying: "The boys would like a sister. I think there might be enough testosterone in the house already."
And she added that she feels different about her pregnancy this time, saying she'd been feeling "really hormonal" and "really, really sick".
Ritchie, who reckoned he had predicted Natasha's pregnancy when he realised she smelled of newborn babies, said of the happy news: "It definitely is a life changer, even just on perspectives on the world and stuff, the world's a different place all of a sudden."
Natasha added that her plans for after the baby is born will revolve around Ritchie being on tour: "I'll tag along and be the groupie!"
