The celebrity chef, who was stopped from boarding a flight from Heathrow to Los Angeles on Sunday night, could now be facing a wait of up to seven months for her visa to be granted.

Nigella’s use of the drug Cocaine came to light during the fraud trial against her former personal assistants, however the mum-of-two insists she only used the substance twice.

However, it appears that this admission is now weighing against her and is facing the possibility of drugs testing to get clearance for her application.

The 54 year old’s co judge on her US series, The Taste, Anthony Bourdain, expressed his outrage at her treatment, writing on to his fans: “I am absolutely mortified with embarrassment over the cruelty and hypocrisy of US actions re Nigella travel. Unbelievable.”

Nigella’s spokesperson has yet to comment on the recent reports.
