When officers attended the address after receiving the emergency call, they instantly smelled the drug.

Upon smelling what they assumed to be cannabis, the police conducted a search of the property.

The ‘emergency’ led to the police discovering 9 cannabis plants at the address in Salford, Greater Mancherster, which they instantly seized.

Following the discovery of the plants, police confirmed that a 29-year-old man had been arrested on suspicion of cultivating cannabis.

Seeing the funny side to the story, GMP Salford West tweeted shorty after the arrest: “Look what we found following an abandoned 999 call made by a child!”

They then posted a picture of the plants, with the caption: “How many times must we stress don’t let your children play with the phone? #NaughtyChild”

Figures released from last year show that, with over 1,000 cannabis plants seized a week, Greater Manchester is the ‘cannabis capital’ of the UK.

The toddler is believed to be around 2-years-old. We bet his parents won’t be letting him play with the phone again anytime soon…
