Speaking with Holly Willoughby and Christine Bleakley, it was clear to see that Kerry Katona, 33, was trying to keep her emotions in check.

"So a crash team came me and took her off me and she completely died"

But, as she and partner George Kay opened up about the dramatic birth of their baby daughter Dylan-Jorge Rose (DJ Rose for short), Kerry was unable to hold back the tears.

She said: "I had a brilliant, brilliant pregnancy, really good.

"I started contracting on the Thursday evening and was really excited… my waters went, had fun with the gas and air… it was really bonding for us both

"And then I decided to have an epidural."

The epidural seemed to have a strange effect on kerry, the Atomic Kitten star said, explaining that she "had some kind of weird out-of-body experience".

"It was like I passed out but I know I passed out. I could still hear everyone else talking and I really wish I hadn't had the epidural."

After the baby was born, the midwife placed the little girl on Kerry's chest - but she and George immediately realised that something was terribly wrong.

She said: "They put her on my chest and something just didn't feel right… the baby's not breathing, so they took her off me.

"So a crash team came me and took her off me and she completely died."

Wiping away her tears, Kerry went on to explain how she herself nearly died after a complication with the afterbirth.

She said: "My placenta got stuck and wouldn't come out… I'd gone into complete shock, asking 'where's my baby?', and I kept saying to George, 'I'm so sorry, it's not supposed to be like this'.

"It was really horrible. He thought he'd lost us both."

George added: "It was definitely the most frightening thing i've ever gone through."

When asked by Holly, who is pregnant with her third child at the moment, what caused DJ Rose's sudden deterioration, Kerry revealed:

"They had 101 reasons what could have happened… she came out so fast that she reverted to how she was in the womb, living off the placenta… they put her on a life support machine."

"[But] she got discharged before I got discharged. I was really poorly, really poorly."

Suddenly realising that she might have alarmed pregnant Holly, Kerry added: "I hate telling you this holly, I don't want to scare you!"

Despite admitting that "being a mum is what I was born to be", Kerry, when pressed as to whether she would have another baby, replied:

"I think we wouldn't want to go through that again… but never say never."
