Following the 'free the nipple' campaign on Instagram, the 35-year-old actress shared an intimate photo of her breastfeeding son James Knight for her followers.

She captioned the image: '#JamesKnight is now 8 months old! These are the moments a mother lives for. Breastfeeding should not be taboo- and bottle feeding should not be judged- it's ALL fun for the whole family:),'

The family dog can also be seen in the snap, snuggling up on the white bed as Jaime feeds her baby son.

The Hart of Dixie star welcomed her first child with husband Kyle Newman in October 2013. The couple wed in November 2007 after two years of dating, and Kyle had previously said that he would like three children with his wife.

Last week, supermodel Natalia Vodianova posted a beautiful black and white shot of her naked, feeding her baby, which prompted followers to post their own.

Some Instagram users however, have found their pages blocked after posting breastfeeding images - even though the site claim they are technically allowed.

A spokesperson for the app explained that the site quickly shuts down an account if it receives a certain number of complaints - especially if the photos involve children or babies.
