Kirstie told a newspaper that she saw her friends become ‘heartbroken’ over their quest to start a family at a later age, and as a result she thinks women should be starting their families sooner.

Writing for Best, Katie slammed Kirstie’s comments, accusing her of being out of touch.

‘Exactly what you are supposed to do with yourself after you have had babies, and they no longer need you, is anyone's guess. ‘

‘Perhaps you could sit about watching her on telly, helping people move into houses you will never be able to afford and tie dying your granny pants.’

Katie argues that a career helps keep her ‘sane.’

‘Without a career and the sanity of the workplace, I may well have chucked myself off a cliff edge from the boredom of sitting at home all day waiting for the school run.’

Katie continues: ‘Kirstie has conveniently ignored the fact she is a ball breaker. She lives her life on camera, runs her own production company, has staff to run her home and is a money making machine.’

‘Behind the frumpy lumpy Allsopp is a ruthless businesswoman. Mary Berry is the same and if Mary Berry was reincarnated in a size 18.’

Katie concludes: ‘Being a mother takes many skills. However being a successful mother is far easier if you learn to love your life as a woman first.’
