Coronation Street's Jennie McAlpine, 30, is four months pregnant with her first child, but the soapstar is busy juggling her day job while running a restaurant with Chris Farr, her partner of seven years.

And, while the juggling act might seem tiring for some, Corrie's Fiz has admitted that she wouldn't change her busy life for the world.

She told The Mirror: “I feel good, I feel glowing.

“I’m waiting for the opposite to happen. But because I’m still working I haven’t had time to worry about that just yet.”

She laughed: “Christmas, who needs Christmas?

“It will be the best present ever. People keep telling me that life is going to get more crazy than I’ll ever know. I will just juggle it. I’ve got a superb support network around me, we have brilliant family.

“I’ll just come here and one of the customers can look after the baby.”

It's not just Jennie who will be leaving Coronation Street on maternity leave; co-star Paula Lane, who plays Kylie Platt, has announced that she too is expecting a Christmas baby.

However, while two pregnant main characters going off to have babies at the same time should be a major headache for the scriptwriters,. Jennie has revealed the Corrie team are busy planning how to write the pregnancies into the show.

She said: “They have been so good because obviously I am not the only one who is pregnant either.

“We are having a baby boom, so there must be something in the water here.

“I think next week we will have a chat and see what we are going to do. I’m sure they will think of some fabulous storyline.

"There is always prison. I’ve not been there for a while, so there is always that.”
