Just a few weeks ago, JK Rowling released an extra-special 1,500-word article on her Pottermore website, penned by fictional Daily Prophet writer Rita Skeeter, all about 34-year-old Harry Potter and his pals.

And now, thanks to a number of clues strewn throughout the story, Potter fans have concluded that JK Rowling is going to announce that she has been busy writing the EIGHTH Harry Potter book.

So how did they come to this conclusion?

Well, the Quidditch short story revealed another Rita Skeeter book is in the works.

It read: "My new biography, 'Dumbledore's Army: The Dark Side of the Demob' will be available from Flourish and Blotts on July 31st".

July 31st, as many Potter fans know, is a very crucial date to the books; not only is it Harry AND Rowling's birthday, it is also the date Harry first discovered he is a wizard, marks the occasion of his first trip to Diagon Alley and is the date on which LeakyCon (a national day for fans of the series to celebrate the wizard franchise) is celebrated.

But what would the new book be about?

Well, it could focus on Harry's work as an Auror, following him as he tracks down the few remaining Dark Wizards.

After all, as Rita Skeeter hinted: "The famous lightning scar has company: Potter is sporting a nasty cut over his right cheekbone.

“Is the Chosen One embroiled in fresh mysteries ....Or does his injury have a more humble origin, one that Potter is desperate to hide?

“Has his wife perhaps cursed him? Are cracks beginning to show in a union that the Potters are determined to promote as happy?”

Or, maybe, JK Rowling could be writing a prequel to the series, focusing on Harry's young parents and Voldemort's initial rise to power? It'd be nice to see more of Snape, after all.

Or it could be another Daily prophet article from Rita Skeeter. We guess only time will tell...

Fingers crossed that rumours are correct and a new saga of Harry Potter tales will be landing on our bookshelves soon, eh?
