The note- posted to reddit- was left behind for the homeowner to find and detailed a series of strange events which occurred during his stay in the house.

Rather than while away the time watching television, doing odd household chores and clearing out the food cupboards, this house sitter spent his days indulging in some rather more unusual activities…

He started the handover by telling the owner of the house that he had decided to try out their trampoline and acquired a ‘bruised penis’ after a disastrous attempt to bounce on the garden equipment.

He then informed the reddit user that a neighbor had popped over.

“Neighbour came by, asked for soap (sic),” he wrote. “I suspect he wanted to eat do not trust.”

He then got another strange visitor.

“Saw a weird bird (pelican?) perched on fence. Offered to play backgammon with bird, but could not find game set. A pity.”

He continued, adding a bizarre twist to the tale.

The house sitter wrote: “Bird came back later and asked for soap. Suspect conspiracy. Will monitor more closely henceforth.”

He then chillingly wrote: “Welcome home. Don’t look under back deck (noises should subside over time).”

Fortunately, the homeowner say the funny side, writing on the reddit post: “I’m sure he was trolling us. He’s the kind of person I trust to watch over my house and my dogs while we’re out of town.”

“I talked to him while we were driving home – he didn’t mention the note but it was totally normal. I think he just left it as a joke for us to find.”
