Lea Michele pays touching tribute to boyfriend Cory Monteith on anniversary of his death: ‘We will remember you always’

Glee star Lea Michele has paid touching tribute to her former boyfriend Cory Monteith on the anniversary of his death.

July 13 marked the one year anniversary of the 31-year-old's tragic death, and the star's former colleagues and friends were quick to pay their respects to their friend.

Lea Michele, who was dating Cory when he was found dead in a Vancouver hotel room, shared a photo on Instagram of them both and also tweeted an image accompanied by a heartbreaking message.

'We hold you in our hearts today, and every day we remember your smile. We will love you and miss you always.'

After his untimely death from a mix of drink and drugs, Lea Michele spoke of her heartache at losing the man she loved, admitting they had spoken about having children together.

Cory's co-stars were also marking the anniversary of their friend's death, with Ryan Murphy tweeting simply 'Miss you,' whilst Kevin McHale wrote: 'It's been 1 whole year & it's still so surreal, but today is just a reminder of how damn great you were and how much you mean to us all.'

Dianna Argon, who once played Cory's girlfriend in hit show Glee, tweeted a photo of the pair alongside the message: 'I miss him terribly. I know you all miss him too. To Cory…'

Matthew Morrison on the other hand said he felt philosophical about the whole thing, and that he believes Cory has been 'reborn into some other beautiful form a year ago today. I celebrate him and his life…Wherever that may be.'
