Well, fans of Neighbours could soon be experiencing just that. Ramsay Street is to get a zombie apocalypse-style online makeover.

This different take on soapland is being made a reality by the Skip Ahead programme, which is offering young artists to be the creators.

“It’s so fresh and amazing that [FremantleMedia] are willing to do this sort of thing. It’s just a fan dream.”

No details of the special zombie storyline have been released, and it is unclear who, if not all of the cast, will be participating.

Alicia Hamilton, director of digital content for FremantleMedia, said of Louna: “We were really impressed by the content she was producing on her YouTube channels and thought that it would add a new dimension to this extension of Neighbours.”

The Skip Ahead programme will fund the whole project, and allow the five artists – including Louna – to turn Ramsay Street from family-friendly soap into a zombie horror story.
