Peaches, 25, was discovered dead in her home in Wrotham, Kent, on April 7, and the inquest heard one-year-old Phaedra was found by her side in a room ‘littered with syringes’.

Her husband Tom Cohen discovered her the next day, dead in the spare room while Phaedra was in another room.

The inquest today confirmed that Peaches did in fact did from a heroin overdose, and Tom had growing suspicions of his wife’s drug use in the weeks up to her death.

Police investigating the scene discovered syringes, knotted black tights, burnt spoons and £350-£550 worth of ‘importation quality’ heroin.

Giving evidence at the inquest, Tom admitted that he thought Peaches had been lying about the results of her weekly drugs tests and that he did believe she was a heroin addict.

Detective Chief Inspector Paul Fotheringham said a black bag discovered at Peaches’ home contained: “34 medical syringes, some with needles and some without, some were sealed in original packaging and some contained traces of brown coloured residue.

“There were also 45 packaged and sealed syringes, alcohol wipes and cotton buds. Underneath the bed, a dessert spoon was located with visible burn marks on the underside and a small amount of brown residue on the upper side.”

The inquest heard how Peaches got clean last November, but saldy returned to drugs leading to her death

The inquest heard how Peaches had attempted to get clean, and by November last year she had stopped taking heroin.

The coroner Robert Hatch said: “This was a significant change for her but, for reasons we will never know, prior to her death she returned to taking heroin, with the fatal consequences that we have heard her today.”
