Watching the 800m women's swimming freestyle in Glasgow last night, the Kiwi rugby officials leaned in to take a snap of them enjoying the event - only to have a surprise royal presence in the back of their photo.

Prince Harry gives the men a thumbs up

Coach Sir Gordon Tietjens, Trevor Shailer and Massey University Professor Emeritus Gary Hermansson are seen in the foreground of the snap, with the ginger royal giving them a thumbs up in the background.

Trevor Shailer was so chuffed with the photobomb he quickly made it his profile picture on Facebook, captioning it: 'Photo of the day…A Royal photo bomb by Prince Harry with Titch and Gary Hermansson at the Swimming venue tonight…'
