Beyonce and husband Jay Z are currently touring the world with their On The Run tour, but have been subjected to constant reports that their marriage is in trouble.
Speaking on an American radio station, the 63-year-old music manager said that rumours are often ‘hyped’ to encourage sales of tickets and albums.
“It’s called a Jedi mind trick. The Jedi mind trick fools you a lot of times,” he explained.
“I know, because we’ve done this. From experience, there’s a tour going on.’”
Rumours went into overdrive following an incident earlier this year which saw Beyonce’s sister Solange take a swipe at Jay Z in an elevator.
“All I know is the Jedi mind trick. Everyone’s talking about it. Ticket sales went up. Solange’s album sales went up 200%!”
Despite splitting from wife Tina Knowles following allegations that he had fathered a love child with a mistress, Matthew maintains that he still has a healthy relationship with his famous daughter.
“We still talk every Sunday. She’s still the humble, generous person that she’s always been.”
