A Reddit user - who calls himself Penisindoor - has revealed in a Q&A that he lost his penis when he was just 12-years-old.

He said: "I popped the door just a crack and put my d**k through as a joke.
"[My friend] said 'Eww, gross' when he saw it and slammed the door."
Unsurprisingly, things didn't go well from there.

He explained: "It was a scene of utter panic and mayhem. Your penis has a huge artery (well, I don't know about yours, per say) and it supplies a lot of blood.
"I had an erection the moment it happened so that was pumping in blood. If you can imagine, it was like a scene out of the Game of Thrones with the sheer level of blood that was everywhere."

For those who want all the gory post-penis details, the Reddit user explained that he can still ejaculate - but that the fluid comes out via a 'rerouted' hole.
He said: "I still have the base of my penis. The 'stump' gets hard. I can still ejaculate.
"I pee out of the rerouted urethral hole under my balls. I ejaculate out of there as well."

Despite what happened, Penisindoor has a very good sense of humour about his condition.
He's forgiven the friend who slammed his penis the a door (they are still best friends), he has a girlfriend ("any loving couple can be intimate"), and he's about to become the second person to ever get a penile transplant.
The penis transplant will come from a deceased donor and is not without risk; the first man who had one, according to NBC, suffered severe psychological problems.

As the Reddit user puts it himself: "Might reject. May not get an erection. Could kill me."
