Josie Cunningham, 23, often provokes an angry response on Twitter - but many social media users were left shocked at the level of hatred she refused when she admitted she was concerned for her unborn baby.

The heavily-pregnant mum-of-two wrote: "Just been told I have to go for a scan within 24 hours :("

Despite her obvious worry, however, it seems as if Josie's past behaviour had left Twitter users feeling unsympathetic to her plight.

One responded: "Maybe the baby want's out of you as soon as possible you piece of scum."

Another added scathingly: "Try not to worry about it, I'm sure the scan and results will show nothing. Is it a brain/intelligence scan?"

Another said: "Tends to happen when you're pregnant, you dumb b**ch!"

However, despite the wave of hatred on the social media site, some were quick to leap to Josie's defence.

One wrote furiously: "No matter what you have done or said people shouldn't be taking it out on the baby! It's a innocent life!"

Another added: "No matter what she's done in the past and what you all think of her this isn't really the time to be using it as an opportunity to give her abuse. Just try to remember your talking about an unborn baby's life here and I for one hope."

Josie, whose baby girl is due in October, originally planned to abort her baby because she thought it would ruin her chances of going into the Big Brother house.
