While she appeared on Strictly in September, and split from husband Jamie Gilbert in November, Rachel insisted the show had nothing to do with her divorce.

Speaking to Closer Online, she said: "The 'Strictly curse' just seems like a bit of a cliche. It makes for more interesting reading. For me, it wasn't a curse, it wasn't Strictly.

"It was just something that happened and I'm still good friends with my ex husband. We were together for a long time and things happened. I was 19 [when we met] and it wasn't anything to do with Strictly."

Rachel, who is currently taking part in nPower's Act of Warmness campaign, said that, aside from Pasha and his partner Caroline Flack, she is tipping Jake Wood to win this year's show.

She said: "I really like Jake and Janette. Their salsa was amazing, I've held Janette and she just doesn't weigh anything so the stuff they'll be able to do as the series goes on will be really exciting.

"Pixie Lott and Frankie Bridge are the girls that are just doing amazingly – the places they can get their legs, I'm just in awe!"

#MONEYMONDAY WITH RACHEL RILEY

While Rachel admitted she loved doing Strictly, she doesn't think she'd do it again and other reality shows, such as Big Brother, are not her thing.

"I love Strictly because you're learning something and you get expert training. It was just brilliant, a lovely experience. I like a challenge, but not just a challenge of trying to get through a certain amount of time without going crazy."

Of the new campaign she's fronting, Rachel said: "We'll be going round the country with this snug, inviting people in for cups of tea and free energy saving advice."
