Doctors treating her said that the model, who is just 29, has had two surgeries on her brain, but that the prognosis for her recovery is bleak.

Her father, Ronny Mostrom, said: ‘She was rammed off the bike and the damage was so severe that she is brain dead.’

‘We can hope for a miracle, but the doctors said there is no realistic chance.’

Anna’s friend Timothy Phillips confirmed that the family are now looking to donate her organs.

‘The staff told us to continue to hope for a miracle’ he wrote on his Facebook page. ‘But they have never witnessed a patient recover from similar conditions. Although the breath does indicate the very minimum of brain activity, life cannot continue under the overwhelming pressure.’

‘The light within her is fading but her star shines brighter than ever,’ he added.

Anna was cycling home when she was struck by the bus. The driver has not been charged, police said.
