Paralysed groom walks down the aisle with help of robotic legs

A man paralysed from the chest down has walked down the aisle with the help of a robotic exoskeleton.

Matt Ficarra broke his neck in a boating accident in 2011, and hasn’t been able to walk naturally since the incident.

But thanks to a bionic exoskeleton that Matt strapped onto his legs, he was able to walk down the aisle at his wedding to Jordan Basile.

Friends and family cheered the 30-year-old on as he entered the room in Syracuse, New York.

His father, Frank Ficarra spoke of his pride as he watched his son in action.

The Ekoskeleton, created by Ekso Bionics, is battery powered, driving the legs forward. Matt has been practising using the device since April.
