As the McQueen family celebrated their cousin’s wedding on a private party train, they were struck by tragedy as they were involved in a horrific accident.

After a dramatic train derailment and explosion, Carmel, played by Gemma Merna, was left gravely injured, fighting for her life surrounded by the rest of the McQueens.
Actress Gemma was praised on social media for her dramatic death scene, in which she had a chance to say goodbye to her close-knit, yet tumultuous family.
Carmel had been ostracised by the family in the weeks leading up to her death, after her plan to flee with Theresa’s daughter was exposed.

But just like in real-life, tragic events have a habit of bringing family together, and Carmel’s last scene is shared with her relatives Mercedes, Theresa and Myra.
Jennifer Metcalfe, who plays Mercedes, tweeted: ‘My beaut @gemmamerna as flipping killed it! I love u gem xxx’ after the scene was aired.
Their on-screen cousin Jorgie Porter joined in, adding: ‘Great to hear u were all balling ur eyes out tweeples as were we all gunna miss @gemmamerna with all my heart.’
Many fans were calling for Gemma to be given an award for her performance on Tuesday night’s show.
