But, despite the Atomic Kitten star working hard to express enough milk to leave Ella with at least two bottle feeds, she found it very difficult to try and wean their baby onto the bottle.

Writing from the heart, Natasha said: "I tried Ella on a few different bottles after expressing but she just wouldn’t take it – she kept retching and getting agitated. She managed to drink just over an ounce from one bottle the day before my job but then got quite upset as she obviously wanted mummy’s breast.

"It really is hard trying to get her to feed from the bottles, but emotionally hard too.

"All my instincts are saying, don’t bother, keep her on the breast for as long as possible, but as a self-employed mum, I can’t give up work and have to take it as and when it comes, and I’m not in a position where I can pick and choose."

It is a position many other new mums will find themselves in - and Natasha has done the right thing in going to ask her midwife for pointers and tips on how to express.

The mum-of-four said: "She’s given me a few pointers. Firstly, always express from the breast Ella has fed from so that the milk is the thicker, richer one that fills her up, which I’ve done.

"And secondly, try feeding from the breast then quickly swap to the bottle (which I am yet to do)."

Natasha added that, while she has 'loved every minute' of feeding Ella herself, she has got to the point where she needs as much help as possible.

She added: "It’s got to the point now where daddy would love to get involved in helping out feeding and I’m not going to lie, one or two full night’s sleep while daddy does night feeds would be wonderful.

"So this week I’m going to keep expressing and storing milk in the freezer and testing out different teats. Any pointers or tips would be much appreciated!"
