If you're anything like us, you've been busy wondering who killed Lucy Beale (Hetti Bywater) ever since her body was dumped at Walford Common on Good Friday last year.

But, with so many clues, red herrings, and plot twists along the way, we're still none the wiser as to who did the dark deed.

Or aren't we?

Some die-hard armchair detectives have taken to Twitter to reveal that there's been a MAJOR clue staring us right in the face all along - and it was dropped into our laps during the Children In Need EastEnders sketch last year .

You know, the one where Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) was confronted by all the ghosts of Walford past?

Fine, we'll jog your memory for you...

With Ian and Denise (Diane Parish) the only living characters in the moving sketch, you could be forgiven for assuming that it was one of them who brought an end to the young businesswoman's life.

But the clue is a little more obscure than that - and it's buried apparently buried inside the crossword Ian is tackling.

Puzzling over the last clue - not to mention the sudden death of his daughter - it's understandable that Ian would be desperately searching for answers during his dream.

And, when Lucy turns up to say goodbye to him for one last time, he can't help but ask the one question on his lips:

"Who did this to you?"

She remains silent on this matter, choosing instead to tell her dad that she's finished his crossword for him.

And, when he wakes up, he sees she's done just that.

Except, while many of us focused on the 'I love you' he'd never get to hear from his little girl again, others looked deeper into the crossword.

And guess what they found?

"Lee, stop it."

****Could Lee Carter (Danny-Boy Hatchard) be the one who killed Lucy? After all, the former soldier is prone to losing his temper - and we've seen Lucy's ex get very violent in recent months, during an ugly confrontation with Ben Mitchell.

And a show spokeswoman did hint at the time that a big ol' clue would be dropped into the mix, saying: “Will Lucy be able to give Ian the answers he’s looking for?”

Then again maybe, just maybe, people are reading too far into a strange coincidence.

Maybe.

We guess we'll just have to wait and see what Dominic Treadwell-Collins has in store for us when Lucy's killer is finally unmasked on 19th February 2015.
