The 55-year-old took to Twitter to share an adorable snap of him with 11-month-old Eric, with both of them sporting grumpy faces.
X Factor judge Si captioned it: “Looks familiar?”
But Simon previously revealed that generally Eric is very content. He told the Mirror: “He’s been a very, very, happy baby.
“The other night I heard him cry at 4.30 in the morning so I went up to see him and within five minutes he was back to sleep, happy again.”
The music mogul is confident Eric will become more like him the more he grows.
He continued: “I don’t really like bright colours in a house. I think they’re annoying.
“[Eric’s] room is the most most colourful room in the house, until he reaches seven. Then he’ll be like me.”
Simon, partner Lauren Silverman and baby Eric recently returned from Barbados, where they spent Christmas and New Year on the same island as stars including Tulisa and Danny O’Donoghue.
The family were also joined by Simon’s dogs Squiddly and Diddly. He shared a snap of them them looking tired, writing: “It’s tough being so cute… Squiddly and Diddly after a long day on the beach.”
