From running up them the wrong way, to 'jumping' off at the end, it's no secret that small children have a strange fascination with escalators.
But, as this video proves, very young children should not be allowed on the moving staircases without adult supervision.
In the clip, we see a small girl wander over to the escalator and begin running her hand along the handrail.
Clearly entranced by the movement, she then peeks over her shoulder (presumably to check if any adults are watching her) and decides to take things one step further.
Grabbing onto the moving handrail, she is lifted up bodily - and begins disappearing down the side of the escalator.
Shoppers quickly rushed to rescue the tiny tot from her very dangerous ride, and she was quickly pulled to safety.
Amazingly, she was unharmed.
We bet her parents breathed a sigh of relief when they got the mischievous tyke back in their arms!
