Gossip Girl ended in December 2012 and we still feel as though we were robbed. However new rumours have suggested that Rufus Humphrey and Lily Van der Woodsen are dating in real life!
Kelly Rutherford and Matt Settle sent fans into actual meltdown when they posted selfies of them together.
For those who don’t remember, let’s go go back down Gossip Girl memory lane. Lily and Rufus were together in their twenties but ended up going their separate ways.
But, of course, their children ended up going to the same schools, bringing them back together.
Throughout the series, Lily and and Rufus tried to resurrect their love, but there were problems. First of all, their children Serena and Dan fell in love which just made things awkward. Then Lily married Chuck Bass’ dad (we still don’t know why).
Then Bart Bass pretended to die, and Rufus and Lily were free to get together. But then Bart came back from the dead and Lily went back to him.
Lily and Rufus didn’t end up together in Gossip Girl (sob) but Serena and Dan did (yay) and now this news has made everything almost ok.
Kelly and Matt (RL Lily and Rufus, keep up!) even spent Valentine’s Day together!
Now we just need Ed Westwick [Chuck] and Leighton Meester (Blair Waldorf] to get together and everything will be perfect.
