According to US website TMZ, Chris Brown and former model Nia, 31, are parents to a nine-month-old daughter.
The Back To The Crib rapper is said to have known that Nia for several years, and the friends are reportedly on such good terms that there is apparently no formal child support order in place.
However, while Chris is "happy to be a father", he is not dating Nia - and is reportedly still with on-off girlfriend Karruenche Tran, whom he has been dating for four years since splitting from Rihanna.
In February 2009, Brown plead guilty to felony assualt of then-girlfriend Rihanna after leaving her battered and bruised with facial injuries after an argument which escalated into physical violence before the Grammy Awards.
He accepted full responsibility for his actions and was sentenced to six months of community service.
According to sources at HollywoodLife, Rihanna - who is rumoured to be dating Leonardo DiCaprio - was stunned to discover that her ex is now a father.
They explained: “Rihanna is shocked and had to read the reports four times before it finally sunk in.
“She wishes him all the best in this new and very important chapter in his life.”
Chris Brown is currently on tour and will be performing his next concert Friday in San Jose, Calif.
He has yet to comment on the baby rumours.
