When Tracey Choularton rekindled a relationship with former love Terry Brown, she was overjoyed to discover just months later she was expecting their first child.

But their happy world came crashing down when Terry, 33, was falsely accused of raping 29-year-old Lisa-Jayne Samuels in a brutal sex attack.

Overnight, the terrified couple became victims of a hate campaign and were targeted by vigilante gangs.

Tragically, Tracey, 25, lost their unborn baby at ten weeks after she tripped while trying to escape a mob.

Mum-of-four Samuels eventually admitted she’d invented the rape claim in a bid to win the sympathy of her estranged mother and was jailed for 20 months for perverting the course of justice.

But Tracey’s life has been left in tatters by Samuels’ awful lie. She says: “I’m relieved we’ve cleared Terry’s name but we’ve been to hell and back. Terry’s reputation has been dragged through the gutter. It’s devastating.

“We were looking forward to starting a family together but that’s been taken away from us. I was heartbroken when I discovered I’d lost my baby and we still haven’t got over it.

“I’m glad Samuels’ is behind bars. But we still get dirty looks and abuse, even though Terry is innocent. I’m sickened someone would make up such a horrible lie.”
