When Gemma Swift appeared on the Jeremy Kyle Show for a ‘Stop harassing me just because I’m sleeping with your ex’ segment, she sparked a storm on social media.

But people were far more interested in her teeth than her controversial lifestyle.

Taking to Twitter for a barrage of cruel dental-themed jokes, viewers soon turned Gemma's teeth into bonafide reality stars.

Check it out:

In fact, Gemma's teeth have caused such a stir that the show has now forked out £10,000 for her to have them corrected.

And, naturally, it was all done on camera.

Yup, ITV filmed Gemma having the surgery done - and the procedure will be aired during the show on Thursday.

A source told The Mirror: "A camera crew went to her house and they filmed the whole thing.

"She was awake during the treatment and she’s got to go on The Jeremy Kyle Show again on Thursday."

Apparently Gemma's entire life has changed for the better following the surgery, and she is now with her boyfriend Tony full-time as he is no longer embarrassed about her appearance.

They have even been spotted kissing in public.
