Pictures of Josie Cunningham apparently praying in a church recently made their way into the press, with the controversial mum-of-three appearing unaware of the paparazzi following he into the church.

However it has now been claimed that Josie - who announced she had converted to Christianity after splitting from convicted woman-beater Andrew Goy - staged the photoshoot herself.

Reverend Amanda Barraclough, Vicar at St Mary’s Woodkirk explained to The Mirror: “We were told that someone wanted to visit St Mary’s to pray for a loved one on the anniversary of their death; there was no mention of a photo-shoot (and no mention that it was Ms Cunningham).

"I wouldn’t turn anyone away who wished to visit a church for such purposes, and would be disappointed if the motivation here was more commercial than spiritual.”

The comments came after Josie tweeted furiously: “So, the vicar is not happy with me!?! She even called my manager!

“I’m sorry, but doesn't everyone have the right to turn their life around!?”

Josie's agent Rob Copper also denied that the photographs had been staged, telling The Mirror: "Josie has been through a lot over the past two weeks, most of which the public are not aware of.

“Due to the daily dramas surrounding her life, it's rare that a day goes by without a freelance photographer sitting outside her house and following her every move."

Unperturbed by the incident, Josie also revealed this week that she is planning on being christened alongside her baby daughter Grace.

However it seems as if the outfit she may have to wear for the important ceremony may put her off…

She wrote: “Decided. I want to get Christened! Anyone know if I can have a double Christening with me and my daughter?

“Also, is it true I have to wear a long dress to my ankles? Seen a beautiful dress, but it's REALLY short??”

We guess we’ll just have to wait and see what happens there then…
