Oggy and the Cockroaches - a French animated comedy series produced by Xilam and Gaumont Film Company - airs on the Nickelodeon children's TV cartoon channel NickToons.
However a recent episode has been pulled after disgusted parents realised that cartoonists had drawn a picture of a pair of bare breasts into a scene.
"Of course the image was inappropriate"
Yes, really.
The busty topless character (as depicted above) was seen sporting a pair of teeny-weeny bikini bottoms, giant sunglasses, and a big blow-dry hairdo.
It’s unclear how many people noticed the naked cartoon lady, but at least ONE angry parent contacted US website TMZ to reveal how very disappointed they were to have been forced into an anatomy conversation with their 8-year-old son.
Nickelodeon, meanwhile, not commented on the episode, but it’s reportedly been pulled from the channel’s website.
It remains unclear if this particular episode of Oggy And The Cockroaches, which has already been broadcast in the US, will be shown to UK viewers.
However plenty of parents have taken to social media to discuss what they are calling #boobgate.
One wrote: "Of course the image was inappropriate. That being said an eight year old boy is in 3rd grade. He should know about breasts. The little guy should have a basic understanding."
However one mother argued: "Ok so it's ok for women to breastfeed in public but a cartoon of boobs is horrible. If an eight year old has never noticed women have boobs than I'm glad his dad had a talk with him. Stop making the naked body so taboo."
