The Paedophile Hunter uploaded a snap of him and Jim to his Instagram account, but was hit with criticism when one user wrote: ‘I’m not even going to point out the irony here.’

In January 2013, Jim was arrested as part of Operation Yewtree over alleged sex offences. However by August, all charges against the star were dropped when the Crown Prosecution Service said there was ‘insufficient evidence fora realistic prospect of conviction.’

Other fans of Stinson, who shot into the public eye after his controversial documentary The Paedophile Hunter, asked: ‘Ain’t her a pedo [sic]’ while others slammed him for being a ‘massive racist.’

But Stinson was quick to defend the entertainer, replying: ‘He wasn’t arrested for anything to do with children and wasn’t even charged with what he was arrested for.’

Davidson made a name for himself hosting game shows Big Break and Generation Game, and has also had success as a stand-up comedian.

Stinson met the star at the ITV studios on Monday, where he also bumped into reality star White Dee. ‘So much love for this woman’ Stinson captioned a shot of him and Dee.
