The High Fat Diet- developed by nutritionist Zana Morris and health journalist Helen Foster- claims it can help you lose as much as 10lbs in 2 weeks.

Eating all your favourite foods AND lose weight- too good to be true, right? Well apparently men and women around the country are already benefiting from the high fat diet plan.

Most of us think that by cutting down on fat (switching to low fat yogurt, zero fat drinks etc) will help us get rid of those stubborn pounds, but many researchers are now claiming that this is in fact leading us to put weight on, instead.

How does the diet work?

It works by involving more foods with high-fat content and less carbohydrate based foods. With less carbs and sugar your body is producing less insulin. Fat and protein create much smaller insulin spikes.

Will I feel hungry?

According to those who devised the diets, no you won’t! Fat has a nifty way of making you feel full. It digests slowly, whereas carbohydrates and sugars digest more quickly. Sugar in particular can give you a rush of energy followed by a crash in blood sugar levels.

How much weight will I lose?

According to the diet's developers, you can lose as much as 10lbs in a very short space of time. The amount of weight you lose, however, will depend on your starting weight and how strict a plan you are following as well as how active your lifestyle is.

Where do I start?

Start by decreasing your carb and sugar intake. Make clever swaps rather than introducing LOADS of high-fat foods. Remember that a High Fat Diet is for weight loss, not an excuse to eat burgers and chips for every meal!
