Gemma Vaughan is one of those mothers, who posted a video of her giving birth to her son just days after welcoming him into the world.

Gemma shares the gritty details of giving birth

The 25-year-old full time mum shared the 39 minute footage on the network, and since publishing it has had 16,000 views.

‘It makes me feel great that so many people have watched it’ she says. ‘It doesn’t really bother me that men on my street may have seen me naked and giving birth. I’ve always thought of breasts as things to feed babies with rather than anything sexual.’

Gemma says that the YouTube community has been incredibly supportive - especially fellow mothers who follow her on the channel.

‘I’ve always been interested in pregnancy and birth’ she explains, ‘I needed something to pass the time and I discovered vlogging on YouTube and thought: “I could do that.”’

And it seems expectant mothers are gaining a great deal of comfort from videos such as Gemma’s, with her younger sister Emily, 21, saying it gave her a ‘real use of what to expect.’
