Since appearing on the controversial Channel 4 documentary, Dee, 43, has carved a career as a television personality and even scored an appearance on Celebrity Big Brother.

The mum-of-two sat down with Phillip Schofield and Amanda Holden on This Morning to discuss the past year.

She said: “It’s been the craziest 12 months ever. I’d still describe it as completely and utterly unreal.

“I still walk down the same streets, I’ve still got the same friends, my children go to the same schools.”

But Dee knows exactly what she wants in the future.

She continued: “I’ve always been very interested in politics and it is something I will possibly go into a few years down the line.”

However Dee insisted she doesn’t want her new celebrity status to be an issue.

She added: “I don’t want to do it because I’m topical, I want to do it because I’m passionate about it.

“If you’ve got the right ideas and a feel of what real people life, it’s a heads up isn’t it?”
