To prank her boyfriend, David, Hayleigh – from Elgin, Scotland – text him and told him she thought their relationship was over.

“I don't want to be with you anymore,” Hayleigh typed. “I am not happy.”

But she was given a massive shock when David wrote back and told her: “Thank God you said it first so I didn't have to.”

Hayleigh quickly fired back: “What? What do you mean? So you don't want to be with me?”

APFOOL

After David waited to reply, Hayleigh posted a screen shot of the messages on Twitter with the caption: “Well my April Fools backfired”. You’re telling us.

Fortunately after giving Hayleigh the fright of her life, David finally gave in and told her he’d also been messing around and wanted to give her a taste of her own April Fools medicine.

We can’t work out who we think is meaner. Take note, couples. DO NOT do this next year. You may not be as lucky!
