If anyone thought that the amazing royal baby news was safe from commentary by Josie Cunningham, they were sadly mistaken.

The prolific tweeter has outraged fans of the royal couple by claiming that the country’s new princess will be named after her.

Josie wrote: “OMG just been told the #Royal Baby has been born & theres been talk about it being called Josie! Thats got to be after me!? #PeoplesPrincess(sic).”

Twitter users were quick to disagree with the mum-of-three, with one responding: “I highly doubt they will call their baby josie, hardly a name for a princess(sic).”

Another wrote bluntly: “They'd probably not call their baby Josie, because of U x(sic).”

Bookmakers have confirmed that Alice is the favourite baby name for the new princess, closely followed by Charlotte and Elizabeth.

Many bookmakers are running bets that the royal baby will be named Diana after Prince William’s late mother.

A spokesperson from Ladbrokes told The Mirror: "We're just as thrilled as royal fans that a healthy princess has been born despite it costing us plenty. Attention now turns to the name game and Alice, Elizabeth & Diana are the hot tips."
