The 37-year-old was shocked to discover somebody had been posing as her online, in a bid to convince her female friends to meet them.

A source told The Sun: "It was very disturbing. God knows what his motivation was.

"She has been left really shaken by this."

According to the newspaper, the unidentified man had been using fake email addresses to start conversations with her friends.

Thankfully one of the friends became suspicious and sent Kym a text to ask what was going on.

Coronation Street actress Kym then contacted the police.

This isn't the first time Kym has dealt with online trolls.

Just last month she revealed she receives regular abuse on Twitter, including death threats and even sick taunts about her son Archie who tragically passed away in 2009.

But the former Hear'Say singer refuses to be forced off of social media.

She told the Daily Star: "Messages like that are just sick and you have to remember they are coming from someone who is not well."
