She’s amassed a reported £54m fortune thanks in part to her hourglass figure. But as Kim Kardashian embraces her second pregnancy, insiders reveal her battle to keep her infamous curves has left her exhausted, emotional and secretly bingeing on carbs.

The 34-year-old star made no secret of her struggle during her first pregnancy with daughter North, now two, where she gained 3st.

She later said: “My body just went crazy. After five months I swore I’d never get pregnant again. I got so huge and it felt like someone had taken over my body.”

And since announcing she was expecting again in May, insiders say her husband Kanye West – who has been widely reported to be controlling of Kim – has sought the help of two nutritionists to devise a special diet to ensure she doesn’t gain so much weight this time round.

A source says: “Kanye wants the absolute best for the baby and Kim, so he’s hired two nutritionists. One is an expert on baby development, and the other is helping Kim choose foods that will prevent her from bloating and gaining too much weight.

“But Kanye can’t help but interfere. He’s banned their chef and housekeeper from ordering carbs or sugary food and wants Kim to follow a strict organic diet.

"Kim’s special diet bans all white foods and sugar plus most carbs, aside from wholegrains like lentils, buckwheat, quinoa and very small portions of brown rice. She’s been encouraged to eat lots of oily fish and fresh vegetables.

"Kim has been suffering with nausea all day and can’t cope on Kanye’s diet. The only thing that makes her feel better is carbs like rice or pasta, and also ice cream. She can’t face the fallout if she tells him the truth, she worries he’d give her a lecture on willpower.”
