Dominique Cottrez, 51, shocked authorities when she admitted to killing her children, in the worst case of infanticide France has ever seen.

The corpses of her eight babies were discovered in a garden near Lille in 2010, with the nurse later admitting to the killings.

Cottrez faces spending the rest of her life in jail if she is found guilty of the murders.

But in a shock revelation to investigators, the mother-of-two has now said the babies were the result of an incestuous affair with her own father - one that she didn’t want to be discovered.

According to her, from 1989 to 2007, Cottrez killed the offspring that were born from her and her father’s affair, and buried them in and around her house.

Her husband, Pierre-Marie, allegedly knew nothing about the pregnancies, despite police originay believing he helped to hide the babies’ corpses.

Post-mortems on the children found they had been suffocated moments after birth.
